Mali's president says the border between his country and Guinea will remain open, despite another neighbour, Mauritania closing the border with western Mali after a fatal case of Ebola there.
A two-year-old girl died after contracting the virus while attending a funeral in Guinea.
Guinea is one of the worst-affected countries in the latest outbreak and, along with Liberia and Sierra Leone, accounts for all but 10 of the nearly 5,000 deaths from Ebola.
The World Health Organisation warns the true toll is much higher as the number of people infected passes 10,000.
