A man claiming to be Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau says more than 200 girls kidnapped by the group six months ago have been "married off" to its fighters.
The claims, made in a video obtained by AFP, contradict Nigerian government comments that the girls would soon be freed. Nigeria's military also said it had killed Shekau a year ago.
"We have married them off. They are in their marital homes," Shekau was quoted by AFP as saying.
The girls were kidnapped from a secondary school in the village of Chibok in the country's north-east in April.
